Call the ADA in the parish that issued the ticket. Talk to him/her about options. My daughter was doing 87 in a 45, called the ADA, did some community service, nothing on the record.

Thanks! Will do!

I always just emailed the DA's office and said I was more than happy to pay fine, but that I couldn't have insurance go up. They always dropped to non moving violation and took my payment. Worked in St. Charles, St. John, Jefferson, and St Tammany so far.
Here in TX they just do a delayed adjudication, which is basically the same thing minus the trouble of finding the DA's email

Your son is an adult he can deal with this himself

That's what I am trying to avoid here. Already paying too much for insurance.
Don't want to know what I would be paying for a 19 year old male lead foot.

My ticket in EBR all I had to do was take an online test. Took about 15 minutes and my insurance never changed.

call DA and ask politely.

Make your son work to pay the insurance increase.
But I guess you want your kid to not have responsibility. He learned it from you.
Jeez. Weak men raise weak men.

One of you is going to have to blow the DA. I'll leave it up to you two to fight over who gets to do it.

Sounds like he needs another lesson in telling the truth.

You can call the DA and request and article 8-97. He will have to pay the fine but this will keep the ticket off his record. Make sure to do this before the fine is paid.

Talk to the DA. They would most likely rather take a fine outside of court than to clog up their day in court. Probably traffic school or pay a fine for a non-moving violation.

Did you ask the cop or DA if you could suck me off?
Otherwise..life lesson.

All prosecutor and offer to pay fine and ask can it be reduced to a non moving violation like expired inspection sticker. Most will do this routinely.

Who gives a frick? I get a speeding ticket every god damn year and get to keep a company car. This is the First World Problems thread of the day.

You people are just plain stupid, traffic tickets are a racket and if he can avoid paying another insurance tax in addition to the speeding tax he is money ahead. And you are a weak arse man if you pay the stupid speeding tax when you can get the ticket forgiven by a friend or contact.

Have your son go to court on the date on the ticket and talk to the folks handling this stuff. Whenever I've done that, the fine is less and it doesn't show up on my insurance.

Deferred Adjudication may be available, ask the clerk of court

His punishment should be that he should pay the difference in the higher insurance rates.
