shite is expensive. I bought some oil primer and paint at Sherwinn Williams the other day that was originally $61/gallon. The guy gave me some discount and knocked it down to $40/gallon though. It's some heavy stuff

Mid level Bher, High level SW.

To the OP:
This was on the Lowes website. The signature Valspar is comparable to the Behr products. Like I said with proper prep, the coverage is very good

Also I find the Olympic a little better than Glidden and not bad for the price.

Nah, he grabbed a coupon off of the counter and wrung up each separately because you couldn't use the same coupon twice. It was very thick. Only one coat of each, and my carport is done. Shitty latex would've been a minimum two coats

I just painted my house interior and exterior with Sherwin Williams, it came out great. Also for the wet areas IE bathroom or mud rooms, get the mildew additive.

I haven't ever seen latex get as thick or look as good as oil. Hell, the entire interior of my house is wood, and the painted parts are all oil

I'd use both. Be careful with Behr if you are doing ceilings. We were having a problem with the flat not being a dead flat. That would be on ceilings. On walls I feel the Behr is the better product.

For what it's worth: I've built commercial, retail and residential. Have never seen Behr, valspar, glidden specified or used on any of them. Ben Moore and Sherwin on 99% of the jobs I've been involved with.
Sherwin Cashmere is a great paint with coverage and ease of use. Also don't skimp on brushes, use Purdy, and good roller covers. They along with good paint will make up for a lot of inexperience

No matter how much you spend on paint, you'll never be satisfied, or get the best results, without proper surface prep and using a quality primer. There is absolutely no paint that has primer in it. That's all a marketing gimmick that the paint companies started a few years back, Fact. I actually work for a coatings company.

Doesn't matter. It's all in the prep work. Best thing you can do is throw diesel on your walls before applying the paint. Makes the paint adhere like a champ.

I've used both. The only Behr paint I still use is the Ultra Pure White w/Primer, because it is a brilliant white color. Otherwise, I've been sold on Sherwin Williams. Great coverage, plus they can match any color you bring them from another store. Costs a little more, but quality usually does.

Did you check to see if the additive was okay for indoor use? Most are made for exterior use and are not safe for indoor use.

Yes, I told them what I was painting.
