Take away federal dollars and recalculate. Likewise for the other states…take away the money they’re sending to the feds for redistribution it poor states.
In 2023, If Louisiana residents paid their federal taxes to the State instead, it would have added $52B to State income. They received $24.9B from the federal government in 2023….you want to argue how much Fed money is % of their State budget without taking into account what their taxpayers added in to the federal money.
see, the point is, the federal government should be absolutely nothing but defense and disputes between the States. Let States get this money and take care of themselves….

she said poor not dumb. Be truthful
Margaret Brennan leans in while changing the tone and volume of her voice in a manner that is dismissive of the subject that she is discussing. She implies that the people are both too dumb and too corrupt to administer funds.
The Brennan family did very well with the implementation of the Obama/Bush Deep State BETRAYAL of America. I hope those poors she discussed get their day with the traitors.

Real question, why are poor Southerners so sensitive?
We're still spiteful to the Yankees for burning the South to the ground, their rich buying land, sending carpetbaggers to take advantage of the rest that were left with no capital, leaving hundreds of thousands homeless, jobless, and no tools to work the land. All the while they were already advanced industrially and sent the South back 100 years, 160 years ago. But yeah, I don't know why the South is poor or so sensitive about it.

Lmao she said Alabama. She’s clueless as to what’s going on there especially Huntsville.
Now Mississippi is fair.

Are deep south states capable of those things by themselves?
Mississippi has a model emergency management function. Other states get trained by them.
Alabama sends people to space.
Just give them money and let them take care of their state. They will be worlds better than fema.

Yeah, nothing new there.
FEMA was supposed to be a coordinating agency, one that helped local, state, and federal agencies, not a direct relief provider. I think some of their overreach was a result of Blanco's incompetence.

I know the Cajun Navy has a mixed reputation around these parts, but this is an accurate and timely response to her comments:

they have been an absolute joke since the Dan Rather crap.
If you're referring to March 9, 1981, when Rather took over the Evening News anchor from Cronkite, I have to agree. That's when I stopped watching, anyway. Rather was always such a juvenile wannabe.
