Here's the deal, I'm stuck with DirecTV for at least another year (for the 24 mo. contract). Having some connection issues.
There is AT&T TV. Seems like a fairly decent deal, but I imagine it's typical AT&T with good intro rates, then prices go high, substandard service and software, etc.
Anyone have AT&T TV? Should I just go with YouTube TV instead? Or something else?

Admins: move to appropriate board, if necessary.

I have both. I like YouTube TV much better. Easier to navigate. Easier to scroll through saved shows and much better channel line up. My wife prefers ATTTV only because it has 1 or 2 shows that she watches that aren't on YTTV. Were it just up to me Id have YTTV only.

I switched DTV to ATTV recently. Picture quality is better - doesn’t go out during rain. Overall, cheaper, but have to upgrade to the fastest fiber internet ATT has - which wasn’t a problem since we needed it to work from home anyway.

Can only have three devices streaming at once, not the same channels, not as easy to use as DTV.

I just bought one “box” with the service, then bought 4 4K fire sticks from Amazon.

I have AT&T Uverse and like it. My neighbors have Dish and Direct TV and their stuff goes out during rough weather.

I didn't know they even did contracts anymore. You sure it's not just a 24-month promo price and not an actual contract?

I switched from Directv to youtube tv and I like it. Only problem is if you're in the New Orleans market which includes northshore, you don't get ABC local. My daughter hacked it so I actually get Baton Rouge local channels. That's the only negative I've seen. I haven't tried other streaming services but a lot of people say youtube is much better than Sling and others.

I just got ATT fiber installed in my new home Friday. I think I'm going with HULU + live TV instead of Youtube TV because of the history channel.

It seemed like ATT TV required their higher tier to get all the channels I want. I will likely do trials of each for a couple of weeks, then decide.

Just switched to it from Suddenlink. With the exception of losing one channel, I love it. Yes, my rate in year two will go up, but even with that, I save a ton over cable over that time period.

switched fully over to YouTube TV on Roku last year.
same. The price home this year sucks for sure, but it's one of the best options out there hands down.
The unlimited DVR alone makes it worth it for me

TBH, I'm not certain. Wife set it up last year, so I imagine it's as bad as it they'd do, like force a 24 month contract.

Youtube TV is better than AT&T.

I refuse to give Google/Youtube money, so they’re not an option for me.

AT&T TV is garbage along with most other products and services AT&T offers. It locks up constantly. I've heard the fiber internet is good though.

I am sure it is typical AT&T. We switched internet and over the couple years we had it somehow less service cost twice as much as when they installed it...

We just use netflix/Amazon/Disney for our TV, we don't watch much, well the 5 year old wears out Disney+. I can find any live sports in HD streams and lots of streams needing a log in work with our AT&T internet log in for some reason. We also have a family members log in for ESPN and HBO among other things. During the riots we found all the cable news stations stream their feed online for free, no cable log in required. I don't think I will ever go back to paying for regular TV, I can wait for it to hit the internet.

I used to have U-Verse & AT&T internet
The only reason I no longer have it is because I moved & it’s not offered where I’m at

I had no issues at all (other than some billing complications after flood that were taken care of) & it is way cheaper than Cox
I don’t remember any rate changes

I have UVerse, and it's really hit or miss. Expect the typical horrible customer service from AT&T. If you have an issue that requires a tech, expect the tech to call you the day of the appointment to tell you that he's running behind and has to reschedule.

Like most cable companies, its a constant battle to keep your bill down. I was told by the sales guy that my rate was fixed and would never go up. I had him put it in writing. 6 months later, my bill started creeping up. I called the salesman, and got no answer. I called customer service and was told that they had no such program.

I sent them the written guarantee from the salesman. After some investigation, they found that the guy no longer worked for AT&T. They extended my "promotional" deal another 6 months.

I'll never go with AT&T again. Worst customer service and worst experience ever.
