You’d think the 80s would have done that.
They had a fricking biological attack by a cult in the state during an attempt to torment a legal takeover, as the intention was to take out everyone who wasn’t the cult so they could vote their own into power.

My awareness of it is mainly due to being a Bloom County fan and a ton of Bhagwan / Rajneeshee stuff ended up in there around late 1984.
