That is very sad.
A friend of mine found out she had a half sister from 23andme. Her dad was already dead.
No way would I do that test.

I've had no less than two co-workers discover their fathers were not their real fathers from those tests.

So...

1) that’s horrible

2) the fact that we have genetic testing and research ability doesn’t mean it’s a good idea.

3) Dad must have had other issues, right? I mean that’s a horribly depressing story but not worth killing your self over.

Oh I missed that. I thought just the oldest wasn’t his. So baby mama had all four kids with the affair?

My wife does genealogy for people, kind of a hobby that she's really good at. DNA can only get you so far, you have to sift through a lot of old records when you want to prove something concretely. Anyway, she's traced some DNA lines via Ancestry, 23andMe, etc., for friends and relatives that have had some paternal surprises. People are shocked when they're told that Auntie was a little loose in the britches back in the day. Or Papa liked to sneak over to the next block to visit Ms. Parker. Suddenly Granny doesn't want to talk about Milkman Bob, and don't ask about it again.

Dude...you’re married and raised mid 30s daughters only to find out that your wife whored around and none of them are yours?

That is legitimate life altering shite and I could totally understand someone committing suicide over it. That shite would frick with you hard.

And it’s not like him and the wife had other issues. According to the daughter he was very much in love with his wife.

There are some communities around that a large majority of kids don't ever know who their father is.

Everybody in life is less than perfect. If everybody took the time to let their initial emotions calm down then most things can be worked out. Forgiveness is a powerful tool that most of us neglect to use.

Right. That dude gave that woman everything (according to the post) and she still whored out.

Betrayal is a mother fricker I’m itself and she essentially turned that guys life into a lie. I can’t even imagine what went through that poor SOBs mind.

Other than the suicide part this kind of thing is very common now. The situations like this that I have first hand knowledge of have just ended in divorce, one after being married for 45 years.
