I could rent an apartment for a month there and it would be cheaper.
At that price you couldn't even rent an apartment at Fleur De Leis which was shite 10 years ago.

It's Clint Black. There's your reason. You have a brand new venue that mostly caters to Houston, the city where Clint Black grew up.

It's a nice place and we like to keep the rif-raf out, especially on our weekends.

1. False
2. Lake Charles sucking has nothing to do with any other place in the world.
3. Hotels in Laffy aren't charging $500 to smell up all their smelly air.

Fin, there are like 5 other newer hotels all a few miles or so down the road that can be booked for $200'ish per night for a weekend rate. Everything down by the casinos will be high on the weekend.

I had to fly from NYC to Lessville one time last minute for a meeting at Fort Polk. I left a five star in Manhattan to check into the Holiday Inn Express in the armpit of the earth and the girl quoted me $100 more than I paid the night before in NYC. I commented on that and she said "I have five people looking to book a room if you don't want it. We are sold out tonight." I shut up and paid the lady.
So I guess, like airlines, that hotels are a true vestige of the capitalist system. No complaints here.

Also where the owner of the casino lives.

It's one of the most popular casino destinations on the Gulf Cost on top of billions in new developments going on. Laffy is dying a slow death related to dropping oil prices. Laffy foreclosure rates year over year have risen at least 300% for the past 6 months while LC year over year rates have dropped.

Because no one is willing to pay that to stay in Laffy. Pretty soon you will be able to buy houses for not much more than that at sheriff sales there anyway.
FYI, the smelly air is in Sulphur not LC. It pretty much stops on I10

Yeah, we get it. You're better than everyone. Lake Charles is so awful. Kinda how I feel about Baton Rouge. Only thing there is LSU.
Yellow, you have to outbid the Houstonians and Asians that pay that much per night. I thought they were crazy building another resort. Well, they're full every weekend for that price AND the Nugget is expanding.
I agree, the weekend prices are absurd. Wife and I will be staying on a Wednesday or a Thursday. They're 120 a night on weekdays

Casinos are trashy and LC fricking sucks Kay....get over it.
ETA: LC fricking stinks bro.

The lake Charles part is irrelevant. All the casinos do it so someone is paying it.
Check Beau Rivage the night moody blues is playing. 400/night that sat and 87/night the Sunday after.

You wouldn't catch me dead in that apartment. I was paying $950/month for a one bedroom 6 years ago.
Why would you pay so much to live in that shite city?
Posted on 3/9/16 at 10:05 am to Specktricity
I tried booking a room at the Beau Rivage this Saturday. There are no special events Saturday night yet the room would still cost up to $380 with taxes/resort fees. Needless to say I'm going to be staying at the Best Western across the street for $140
. Will still be hitting up hookers/blow at the Coast tho
