Once you know what to look for in shoes you realize most of the market is junk

Synthetic glued crap from China or India. Many people probably have back problems because they walk around and stand on these pieces of garbage all day.
Spend a little bit extra and get something of quality that will last.

The wife and I switched from Walmart to Target for shoe purchases and have noticed marked improvement. You really do get what you pay for.

If you are just moving up and don’t have a ton to spend I suggest factory Allen Edmonds seconds or wait until they have a big sale. AE is probably the entry point for for nicer shoes. From there the sky is almost the limit with companies like Alden and European brands.

Under Armour used to make a quality show but I’ve noticed a dramatic drop off in quality.
