Early Christian history research would be a start. Are you trying to say it’s impossible to make your mind up on this subject matter? There’s plenty to read about . Finish with Polytheistic religions

But how does all that prove or disprove the existence of God? If anything, the myriad of beliefs could reinforce an agnostic belief.

Knowing God exists is impossible, as is disproving his existence.

Making one’s mind up is another matter and of course is ultimately a matter of faith

Early Mormons were just a weird militant murdering cult. And it was not that long ago. It’s so strange how they just turned into respectable, civic minded, business-friendly, clean cut citizens. A fast turnaround. A successful rebrand.

Japanese did it too

It is pointless to enter into a discussion of word meanings when someone has decided they know better than the OED. You live in your own contrived world. It would be as pointless as discussing geometry with someone who has convinced themselves that a sphere and a triangle are the same thing.

Exmo here / born and raised - got out years ago…

Joseph Smith had proclaimed himself king of the world.

He also - as mayor of Nauvoo - where the Mormon hq was at the time - ordered the destruction of a local newspapers printing press because they were exposing his polygamy - something he had been denying. He deserved to be in jail. Of course, didn’t deserve to be killed but he kind of brought it on himself.

The dude was pure scum - as was Brigham Young after him - it’s amazing the Mormon Church evolved into the corrupt, dishonest, law-breaking corporation worth hundreds of billions of dollars - masquerading as a religion - that it is today.

I know a guy that married a Mormon. He is a happy go lucky drunk and an all around nice dude. She treats him like a king.

On the other hand, all my Mormon acquaintances that have Mormon wives do not get to wear the pants in the family… strange.

Maybe he was just soaking them so it didn’t count.

correct but only because it is impossible to prove a universal negative especially when the object in question has not even been defined

in the context of this argument I believe it is the responsibility of the party making the assertion to provide the evidence to support that assertion, not the other way around

And I believe we are all still awaiting that evidence. I also believe that we are all hard-wired to seek a “creator” as a circumstance of intelligence and that is an evolutionary advantage when manifested in organized religion without which we simply cannot function in great numbers

Interesting, all that led to the invention of soaking and jump humping.
