Ironic that part of your username was derived from Louisiana "rebel" soldiers.

Slavery wasn’t an issue to the North when they admitted slave holding border states to the Union. One of the biggest acts of hypocrisy by the federal govt if all time, which is saying something.

I’ve said this before every time this picture is posted. He’s a hard man. People in that era were just harder, tougher. They had been through trials and tribulations unlike anyone today in America has been through.

Statements like these show you have absolutely zero comprehension of history or social sciences. In the 1860's, your average Southerner would have been hundreds of miles away from the nearest federal building or installation. The United States as a centralized entity didn't exist in the minds of 99% of the population. You were a Virginian, a South Carolinian, a Georgian.
Hell, isn’t it why we have states instead of provinces/territories? Each state was SUPPOSED to be independent in day to day affairs and bound together in dealings with foreign countries, particularly those across oceans.

We would be a helluva lot better off if it were this way today. Washington DC as the US capital has been a nightmare for a century+.

That's in addition, of course, to the "hero's" Southern Genocide.
As a son of the South and the Cherokees, I find your adoration of these monsters abominable. Self-loathing Bammer "southerners" may be worse than RINOs in the ranking of awful subhumans.
What a gem.

The Civil War hero brought his scorched-earth policy to the Plains—and wiped out Native Americans’ food supply.

Y’all got too much soy in that state now.
Louisiana is extremely low in soybean production. The top states in soy production are:
1. Illinois
2. Iowa
3. Minnesota
4. Indiana
5. Nebraska
6. Missouri
7. Ohio
8. South Dakota
9. North Dakota
10. Kansas
11. Arkansas
ETA...Louisiana is 20th out of the 32 states that produce soybeans in the US.

So when a federal army made up of soldiers from places you've never heard of or been to descends on your homeland, is your average Southerner supposed to fight with the foreign hordes or defend his own people?
Ah yes, the good ole lost cause myth once again regurgitated from our favorite fake libertarian.

Almost every acre that Sherman set foot on was burned to the ground. That was what these poor South Carolinians fought for. South Carolina was absolutely destroyed by that man and his army.
The 1860s version of "F-Around and Find Out".

People should know when they’re conquered.

What's ironic is fact as much as all of you complain about the power of the federal govt today you refuse to admit that the root cause of that is the South's decision to go into rebellion and insurrection against the republic in the first place. Yall were your own worst enemies and sped up the process that got us to where we are now.

Sherman was one of the greatest generals in American history. I’d say he is the GOAT if not for Grant.

Yes because nothing says limited government like supporting a faction who wants to deny a political unit the right to freely leave a political union by democratic means. Do you think for a minute the Founding Fathers would have signed the Constitution if they were told it was permanent and irrevocable? Go frick yourself.

Sherman's "job" was not only as the designated sadistic "Punisher" of the South, but also to destroy and vandalize as much olde world architecture and infrastructure possible.
This slaughter and wanton sadism was the America's version of the senseless Dresden bombing -- only on a massive scale. Truly an despicable and evil act. General Sherman is a pathetic, shameful figure in American History.

The Union was supposed to be voluntary, if a state wanted to leave it should have been allowed. The South attempted to do so.
Sounds as though you are admitting that, much like Communism, you can vote your way in but you have to shoot your way out.

It surprises me that with Sherman's treatment of Native Americans that there hasn't been any serious attempts to remove this by the SJW crowd in NYC.
