Yeah I saw everyone just ignoring the barricade this morning.

LaSalle Pointe in trouble?

I just wanted to clarify, and yea it is hard to tell what's current due to all the rerun videos. I was actually shocked to catch a live update for this area.
In general the home owner said they started getting water last night (a few inches). He didn't seem to understand why it was still rising and came off as frustrated with the situation. This I understand because the media has not been covering this area well and come off as confused themselves. According to the homeowner those houses were built a couple inches above Bluff, and the ones still dry may not be that way much longer.
The sand bag berm they constructed around the last 3 houses is very impressive, and I hope they are rewarded for all their hard work. Unfortunately I'm still seeing 1/2" per hour just North of them on the high side.
This thread has been the best source of info for this area. From the troops in the ground to the hydrograph monitors it has been a great source of current info on the situation.

Where do you get the exact measures of .24 & .12?
I'm taking the difference between the current and last readings, divide by hours that have past, then multiply by 12 to get inches.

Did we ever get an actual Alligator Bayou road elevation determined? Google Earth puts it around 11ft but that isn't too accurate.

It's between 10 and 11 at the locks, per the old people.

I got a video of the water flowing at a pretty good clip towards 74. This may be due to the wind though.

Guy I was helping sandbag his grandfathers place on Ridge just called for some pumps, said they were told another 10-12" of rise left.

went drive around this morning... 74 is "barricaded", but not really.... still wouldn't drive down there if i didn't have to, though....
everything else looks either about as expected or a little better, imo... didn't go past c.braud rd. though... just did a loop from my house, to 74 and bluff, and back around...
fwiw, the bayou that runs on the side of my subdivision and behind DTHS's football stadium was up to almost the same level as when the rained had just stopped the other day... the front of the subdivision where Bayou Johnson is doesn't have water across it, though... it connect via a little canal that is north of the subdivision and runs across bluff to the swamp.... for that to be backed up, that swamp is pretty saturated.... i'll keep an eye on it and see if goes up and let you guys know...

quote:rise in AB, BS or Ridge? cause if that's AB, you talking bout another 2 days at this pace. and a lot longer for the rise to stop here on bluff/74

quote:so riddle me this. is it really slowing since the higher it rises in AB, the more water it takes to keep the same pace?

Hearing down the Ridge that we will see an increase in flow now that Bayou Paul road flooding has almost come to a standstill.
