We got it, going go find some tarps to finish up. Sucks the opposing corners are low. About to pull off the old guys place to help the sorority chicks down the street.
Thank you, that's awesome.

There's no official projection. Like I said it will stop rising when the Amite is lower than it.The good news is the Amite is lowering much faster than alligator is rising. Plus the head difference is getting smaller so that rate of rise at alligator is getting smaller as well.
Agree 100%
Wasn't there a report from someone on here last night that Manchac was flowing correctly now?

Are you basing that just off of that graph or are other sources giving those predictions too? I'm pretty sure that graph hasn't updated since Sunday.
They've still been revising the forecast every 12 hours or so (and the numbers have changed with each revised forecast), it's not as good as real data but I don't think its too far off. The upstream gage at Denham Springs and downstream at Port Vincent are both reading well and show similar trends.
All day yesterday the Amite/Denham Springs gage was falling faster than forecast so it makes since the revised forecast for this morning would show an improved outlook for Amite/Manchac as well.

It was still flowing west at I-10 an hour ago.

Anyone have an update on what's going on with New River?
Posted on 8/17/16 at 9:31 am to UNO
No I don't. I never made it to their house.

Unfortunately there are no gauges to the south/west of I10 on New River but I do see all the ones closer to St. Amant are dropping.
I'd imagine that some of this water from Alligator Bayou is going to New River past 74.

No change at Bayou Fountain (15.05').

Did they ever evacuate the women's prison this morning? On the news last night they said they would know by 6:30 if they had to move them out or not in iberville.

Yeah it appears to have risen since we started sand bagging. Homes at shadow ridge and ridge rd look like they'll have water if they don't get sand bag

Nah lol if they moved the prison then I will be more nervous about my house.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hunt (mens) has some level of evacuation very soon

Yea.. I agree. We didn't bag, we just moved out everything of value. May lose a few things I wish I could save but we have stuff over half of Ascension. Some stuff we moved to the St.Amant area earlier in the week only to have our things flooded over there. We are very blessed to have been this lucky so far. All the rest of my family in Ascension and the majority of my friends have lost everything due to the fast rising water.

Just look at the dry houses and how many have a bunch of extra cars and stuff there.
It's very humbling to see so many people working so hard to do so much.
