That makes it seem like the swamp is just about full. What happens now? Does that mean the people in that area will start noticing a faster rise in the water level?

is santa maria still flooded?

i'm currently in one of the subdivisions off of swamp road, closer to the old perkins side.

basically, as long as the flooding doesn't cross I-10 again, i should be fine, right?

great, I cant really imagine water getting up that high, if you are on bluff road you have to look up to see their house

Because bluff swamp is still draining bayou manchac.

Looks like manchac @ kleinpeter has created and started a slow fall which is good but the rate it's falling at is discouraging. It'll be over alligator bayou for a good long while at that rate.

Does anybody know what manchac @ kleinpeter was at when it started going over AB road?

Driving back and forth to work it appears if Bayou Fountain has hardly changed in 24 hours.

The drop is ever so slight.

It's dropping
I saw the current in the right direction this morning over the Bluebonnet bridge
Noticed it went down over a foot on my property in the last 24 hours

I am not extremely familiar with the area, am I correct that the Manchac drains to the Miss, but is so high that its spilling over into AB?

Or does it all go to the Amite?

Amite.

You are correct that it's higher than alligator bayou road and therefor is spilling over into bluff swamp. Bluff swamp is flooding west of bluff road, down to hwy 74.

The water level at Highland and Burbank has hardly changed since this time yesterday. Slight drop perhaps but not much at all.

Road closed to one lane each way on Burbank, water at the corner and still a little water on Siegen itself.

I was surprised the water was still that high.

ETA- got to my computer and saw BF is was at 15.05 elevation at 8;00am. The peak was 15.23 feet.
It has dropped .18 of a foot at the bridge at Bluebonnet. Hardly at all.

I made a quick diagram of the situation as I understand it.

ETA: Red 12.5' is Alligator Bayou/Bluff gauges. Red circle is I10/Santa Maria/Airline area.

Green numbers means it is dropping.
Red numbers are increasing.
Green arrows are flowing correct direction.
Red arrows are backflowing.

Yea I'm one of the houses on Big Easy St taking on water. No water yet in the house. We have about 15" left to go before water is at the top of the slab.

My neighbor, the last house on the street is sandbagged with some sump pumps donated by the Shell plant. He is holding despite being a foot lower than me.

Bayou Fountain dropped another eighth of an inch (15.06').

Looking at the graph, Bluff Swamp is very close to cresting, maybe at 12.6?
