We've been suggesting pumping Braud Bayou into the Mississippi for decades. They won't do it because that's not the natural flow rate, but when you're countering a flood you're fighting back flow. It would solve all of this shite. Leave the locks open and pump everything into the river.

They need one there and they need one at New River and it would help save Gonzales.

just because the swamp is level with alligator bayou road doesn't mean both are level with manchac.

all i meant by the question. sorry for confusion.

I gotcha. I'd think it would continue to rise but even slower?

pumping that to the miss river

The Corps just completed one of those in NOLA to alleviate the stress on the downstream drainage canals to the Lake.

The Funding was set up because of the big flood in '85 here. I cannot see how they cannot step in and due the same for you guys.

Takes time for Politics to get the right Engineers in place first unfortunately.

Alligator/Manchac was 11.78' @ 11am.
Bluff Swamp was 11.85'@ 11am.

Alligator/Manchac was 11.82' @ noon.
Bluff Swamp was 11.88'@ noon.

Alligator up .46". Bluff up .36". Both were .36" previous hour. Maybe sandbag effort @ Bluff pushed more down to Alligator gauge?

water looks to be about a foot away from crossing bluff out front of my subdivision. Those new houses on the lake side have been working their butts off bagging, but I think they will get water in tonight.

From the reports looks like it's getting worse? Not to mention, buddy of mine in oak alley said a lot of homes are now sandbagged.

I'm not the brightest person in the world...
Looking at the map, does that mean that more water is coming into the I-10/Ascension side of AB road than on the U-Club side?

I'm hearing that they have started to evacuate prisoners from Hunts Prison. That's not good.
