Like mind blowing, the shite they do.
Yeah, so I guess that was my point.. the dumb ones don’t usually wind up in the ICU. So yeah you can cross train them but a segment will always need to be babysat.
It’s the same as any other field, I guess. Different specialties attract different personality types. Most of the ICU nurses I’ve met would probably be god-awful at labor & delivery.

All of this Hospital ICU scare tactics seems like an old Robin Cook Novel.

What the heck happened to all those extra beds in the Morial Convention Center???
You’re telling me it’s logistically impossible to drive a corona patient 80 minutes from OLOL to downtown NOLA?
Something fishy is going on. They clearly want to keep their corona patients over elective surgeries.

LDH site says 19.84% of the deaths were obese.
How many were morbidly obese?

I could easily see the data on this being incomplete:
If the patient has a primary care physician that wasn't affiliated with that hospital (or never had a PPC), would the hospital provide an "obesity" diagnosis upon admission? Or would you have BMI 40+ types that go to the hospital, die of covid, and obesity - since it never formally gets diagnosed, just doesn't get reported?

You might get some people at the obesity threshold (~30 so 225 for a 6' man) not charted as obese especially if they weren't ambulatory on arrival and carry their weight evenly but those 40+ BMI people (300+ for a 6' man) are definitely going to have obesity noted in the chart.

They are there and “available” but patients can’t be requiring oxygen so it’s useless for practical purposes

Regarding the outpatient procedures, those always make me leery. I don't know the percentages offhand, but you get complications every so often that require inpatient hospitalization. I'd want to be certain that I had a room lined up, just in case.

So unhealthy you made them shut down procedures all because hitting the gym for 45 minutes a day
Gyms literally had a 5 case increase from the 15-22th. They actually have 31 total cases compared to restaurants, bars, casinos and other social gatherings that are in triple digits combined for almost 700+ cases
