That 2 millions would be better spent on a new prison.

??

They have Walmart, Win-Dixie, and a number of smaller stores.

They have better access to groceries than most in suburban and especially rural areas do.

People used to have high hopes for that clown. Just goes to show you how low the bar is in New Orleans, and how low it was even 25 years ago.

Pretty depressing stuff. Been a depressing millenium all around.

New Orleans politics is so dirty and pathetic, it needs to be reality show.

They just murdered a Cox employee. I would not touch that area for a contracted guaranteed profit. Nope nope nope.

They want to complain about food deserts, but then do nothing to improve the quality and safety of their area. Places like this in this country are beyond my comprehension. Quagmires.

People on this board would support tax dollars paying them to make a TV show.

That’s how grocery stores were 100 years ago. . You’d go to the counter and order and wait

Dear Oliver Thomas,

Once this $2 million dollar study is completed, is there ANY guarantee that even a single new grocery store would consider opening in the East, based on the results?

$2mil for a grocery store? Brad Wesley didn’t need to pay $2mil to get a JC Penney. You ask anybody, they’ll tell ya.

Those stores in poor areas were probably losing as much or more out the back door/loading dock as they were the front door.

Yep, the shrink from within.

You would have to hire someone that is there 24/7 and willing to take a bullet before someone steals from the place.

Good luck trying to find that fool.

The grift is strong with this one.

Just goes to show that one party rule with no need to justify obvious bs will always produce corrupt and wasteful crap like this.

“Underserved” yet ripped off by their saviors, it’s never going to change.

When politicians talk about investing in these communities, this is truly where the money is going.

New Orleans East has residents who could steal an entire grocery store. Don’t sell them short!

Because those stores match the demographic for that particular area.........

I hate to ruin your optimism here but:

$2 mil dollar study for a New Orleans East Grocery store

is not the same as
quote:

Whole Foods, Fresh Market, Aldi, Erewhon, Dean & DeLuca, Fairway Market, Balducci's, and Bristol Farms
