Sort of like you having issues with some conservative people not liking him in this thread... We can't have one thing we don't agree on? Some like him, some don't.

So that would be like voting an outsider and watch the entire apparatus try and take him down?

So Trump.

Is Oliver Anthony the new person that riles up white liberals (OT centrists)?

I don’t know why this was ever a surprise. He’s talking about the swamp.

And I happened across his Instagram video on this topic. He took responsibility and said he had a novice book it for him and didn’t realize how much the tickets were, he told people not to pay that much for a ticket and would make it right.

Seems like he is exactly what he looks like. An honest decent guy who happened to gain a platform that people are fighting to hijack.

I'm guessing he has an agent or manager handling everything because he's in way over his head(as alluded to with your last sentence). And I'm guessing that person is trying to take advantage of the success.

The guy booking his shows was a fellow musician he is on tour with. He doesn’t have a road crew or anything else. When he learned ticket prices were damn near 200 dollars each he lost his shite. I’m pretty sure this is the point at which he realized the dollar figures involved and cancelled the show. If a guy publicly says don’t pay 200 dollar for a ticket to see me, you should pay no more than 40, I tend to believe they’re being genuine. Most musicians in his position would have gladly kept the money as the cost of doing business.

The lesson he is now learning is that the music business is cut throat, which means you need to bring your big boy pants. Nothing wrong with being idealistic, but the venues, promoters and everyone else involved doesn’t share your outlook. They are there to make money, and if you’re not on top of your game and about yours, you’re gonna get taken advantage of and ripped off.

The guy has for sure lost a lot of money he could have made. Sounds like he's ok with that. I believe he's enjoying everything going on right now, but obviously is way over his head. I enjoy his song and his others are pretty good (some of them) also. I do feel his 15 minutes of fame will be up soon, he seems like he'd be ok with that.

get he doesn’t want to charge crazy prices. But then he’s going to have to buy his own venue and pay the bills.

He already found another venue where they call sell more tickets (so can charge less per ticket)

This dude has only played 4 concerts in his entire life so far, 2 of which were for free locally to where he lives. People reading headlines only and taking OP at face value are hilarious

I don't country music, bluegrass, tik tok, or youtube. So, no, I have no idea who this is, and my life is better for it.

Still doesn't say he "demanded" the money, just that's how much he could have made. Piss poor job by OP with the headline

You know exactly who it is, just stop. You wouldn't even be in this thread commenting if you didn't. Glad your life is doing good though.

I came into this thread because I had never seen the name before, so curiousity took over. Then, I google who this is and see I have missed out on nothing.

Exactly. Yet the media and OP will gladly attack anyway, and people on this thread says he’s a primadonna

I listened to his Joe Rogan podcast. This guy didn’t even want to record the Rich Men song and going to Austin was as far west he’d ever been in his entire life…he’s played 4 concerts ever (2 for free)…he’s turned down record labels because he doesn’t want it…he doesn’t want people to pay a lot to see him…he doesn’t want paid meet and greets…yet he’s a primadonna?

It shows just how divisive everything is these days. People have strong love/hate opinions over this random dude with a song based solely on what the other “side” thinks of him. It’s crazy yet sad how public opinion operates these days
