Not gonna lie I feel the same way. I’m a total hypocrite though because I eat meat.
But I’ve made peace with the fact that I have no desire to kill anything no matter how big or small intentionally.

We are going on a couple of generations of people now that aren’t affected by pests like they were in the old days when people had to kill to supplement their food supply or protect crops they depended on for their livelihood. I guarantee you that if coons started chewing all the internet cables people would exterminate them with fury.

I'd start hunting again if that was my only source of meat and I do like to fish occasionally.
But if it's not a threat to me, or I'm not planning to eat it, I'll leave it alone.

If the venomous snake is out in the wilderness, and not in your yard or some other heavily trafficked area, why would you kill it? Or do you mean to say you kill them if they are literally in your deer blind? That I'd be ok with.

The more death you see, the more you respect life.

When I was a kid, I had a pellet gun. Had an alpha dad. Got to play with rifles when old enough. I killed all kinds of birds and small game every time I got the chance. Got a little older, went on a deer hunt. It was my turn. Zeroed in, and felt the total preciousness of life. Couldn't do it. Gave the shot up, and my friend got it. It didn't even bother me because I was so relieved I had had a personal revelation. Now, I'll go out of my way to save a drowning moth...
That said, we are animals and nature is brutal and I will -always- eat meat. I just find ZERO joy in killing a thing. I think it's a primitive rush, and I don't judge it. I understand it for exactly what it is, and I do think it's a very healthy thing for -many- men and women to get into. It's natural.
It's a very interesting topic to me that SO many people don't ever have the same light go off that I did.

How does that wasp react when you stumble into his house?
I have a bug zapper racket which I will use to fry any wasps that come near our balcony. GF lost a dog to a wasp sting (it was allergic) so she's terrified our weiner dog is also at risk.

Now, I barely want to shoot crows or armadillos....however Goddamn the hogs to hell!

I’m 68 about to turn 69 and since my twenty’s have had no desire to kill any animal. People have asked me to duck hunt and deer hunt and to me that’s a hard no. When people post their pictures of deer kills I’m not impressed at all. It’s just not me. To each their own.

I'm kinda getting the same way. I saw an uncollared dog on my property the other day whilst deer hunting. Normally I would have shot it immediately. I let that sumbitch get good and broadside this time, so as not to screw the shot up. I'm gettin soft

No desire to kill deer, squirrels, rabbits anymore. I will gladly still shoot a duck

I’ve lived out in the country for practically my whole life, and I’ve been deer hunting a total of three times. I’m in your boat.
I have noticed this year (Facebook) that a lot of trophy bucks that people have been hunting for years and years are going down. Likely just coincidence, but it’s something I’ve noticed.

I’m 66. Don’t have the desire to kill anything anymore except for seafood. I’ve killed a lot of mammals.
Though I would love to be able to go shoot some rabbits on a cold night with my .22. Head shots. Those are the best for eating.

Im not that old (mid 50s) and sort of feel that way a lot of the hunting season.
I love to go hunting it’s just the killing part I am like warm about. It’s definitely not as big of a deal as it used to be.

I have noticed that older people are less likely to watch UFC or boxing.
Is it too violent of a sport?

My Dad is 80 years old and spot lighted a doe on a two lane back road last summer. Did it for the backstrap and gave the rest away. I was also in the car with him a few months ago when he told a state trooper "Keep lecturing me or write the damn speeding ticket but you are not going to do both".
I cant wait to be 80 and attempt to give less fricks than he does.

Dad was a WWII, Korea and Vietnam USMC combat vet. As he hit his 80's, he did not want to deal any more with having to put his dogs down when it was time.
We had a pack of foxhounds so he had to put a lot of dogs down over the years.
