We have a fridge from the 90's still going strong. It doesn't seem that newer appliances last like that.

It’s just your computer board.

When I was a kid in the 70s & 80s, we had the same fridge, washer, and dryer the whole time. Fast-forward to my current house, from 2006 until now we are on our 3rd fridge, 3rd dish washer, 2nd washer & dryer.

Older washer and dryers were built like tanks, and last like it.
When we bought our House, they left a washer and dryer that were easily 20+ years old. Year 10 in home and still running.
Only issue, is that in past year, the washer, after loading it, starting it, when you close the top, you have to lightly push down, or it will stop halfway. I belive it is an issue with the magnets, letting washer know the top isn't closed. would be 150ish to fix, it's free to barely push down after closing.

Just chunked my Whirlpool.....12 years old. Got us a brand spanking new Samsung side-by-side. She's a beut too! Classic lines. Got one of them fancy water dispensers with option for ice......AND the water is clear and cold just like the water on that Coors Beer commercial. Kidos love that feature.

Ours from 2001 died almost 2 years ago. Upgraded to a Maytag without all the frills and hope it lasts another 15-20 years.

Well, they’re old, so makes sense that they’ve lasted a long time.

I have one of those Samsung’s. I’ll check back with you next year to see how many ice makers you’ve been through.
Nice fridge but the ice makers are the worst. They build up frost and jam with ice causing the ice maker to quit. There is no repair for this design flaw. All you can do is to manually defrost/remove the ice.

I love those old top-load water hog washers. Have one that’s still going.

My dad had a damn Fridgidaire refrigerator on his back porch for extra stuff for about 40 years.

I traded a late 90s washer and a early 00s dryer to my mom 6 years ago because she bought some front loaders from a friend and they wouldn't fit under her cabinets. I've already replaced the front loaders. The old Whirlpools I traded with her still run fine.
