I'm comparing the reactions of putting hands on an elderly man
Cops putting hands on an old man breaking the law is not equivalent to punching an old man because he offends you.

quote:Wow
might need to bump the thread about the old man that got shoved by the cop at the BLM protest
lots of "old man should have backed off if he didn't want any" comments in that thread
And you claim to be "a moderate who hates both sides"

I've literally never claimed to be a "moderate". I have no idea where that came from, honestly.

It is simply amazing to me that they think words justify physical contact and ultimately killing someone.
Only applies if the victim is white and perp is not white. If its the opposite person must go to hell.

We don't know all of the facts, we do know enough to make the statements I did.
But we don't. You don't know what else was said. You don't know if he pushed Pujols. You don't know if he threatened him in anyway. The article hung on the racial slur line because that would get clicks. Like you said, you don't know all the facts.

He’s no moderate.
That’s clear.

Jus kinda funny to me that in today's phone/video everything age, there is no video of the old man using the slur.
Let's ask this. Do you support the kid if he was being called a racial slur.
What if the old man just called him an idiot? Does it make a difference?

A lot of black folks seem to be extremely thin-skinned.

A racial slur justifies killing someone? Someone was playing a stupid game, but it was the person that was willing to kill because his emotions were disturbed. His stupid game got him a manslaughter charge.
I was talking about the murderer bro, You don't get to put your hands on somebody for words.
He should pay the consequences in full for The guy dying because of his actions

quote:The situation doesn't remotely have to be that exact to be comparable.
Find me a situation where a white dude punched and killed a black man for calling him a cracker, and I'll have the same reaction. Dude belongs in jail, no matter what was said to him. It really is that simple.
If we want to pretend the "play stupid games win stupid prizes" and all the other similar cliches aren't thrown out in similar situations, we can pretend that. But we all know it happens, and we all know the response are distinctly different based on the roles in these situations. We know that, c'mon.

We simply don't have enough facts to know.

Cue the "Well, no matter what he did, he didn't deserve to die" crowd.
Isn't that the argument used?

You should read the comments on Twitter about this incident. Lots of black folk claiming "stand your ground" law in Florida should have been used in this instance. Unless the 77 yo man has a firearm or a knife is his hand, he's not a threat no matter how mean he sounds.
