It makes them so angry that we call out the lies immediately.

FWIW, I was joking in my smart-arse comments. I didn't say anything worse than what's said in threads daily on this board.

I mean, you should definitely know people would bring facts into this, so kudos to you.
even if your theory is correct, it still doesn't change the fact that before all the "he faked it" posts and Trump tweets became a thing, the initial reaction by many was that the cop was justified in shoving him simply because he got in his space

We have had that thread numerous times, a lot of "talk shite get hit" related posts
Everything most dudes are saying is 100% correct, the dude died so it was obviously not worth punching/shoving the dude for using racial slurs.
But we're just lying to ourselves if we're pretending this thread would go the exact same way if it happened to other specific groups of folks, like some examples were already given in this thread. The same people stating this was wrong and not worth it are 100% some of the same people who use all the same cliches in situations just like this taking the complete opposite side in the argument that they're doing here.

And I will again say that's really not a similar situation to what this thread is about.

The cop was justified in his actions, staged or not. Just because it was staged doesn't change whether or not the cop should or shouldn't have pushed him. It was a justifiable action.
ETA: As stated above, you're comparing apples to oranges here.

seems like old man and younger person got into a heated exchange, young person pushed/punched old person, that old person falls to the ground and is injured due to falling to the ground via the shove/punch
how are they not that similar?

In this thread you've gone from calling Pujols a dumbass and gaping vagina -- which was jumping to conclusions based on your own bias and assumptions -- to now being a pragmatist that says we don't know all the facts. Quite the argumentative transition.

Have we seen gramps' arrest record yet?

Find me a situation where a white dude punched and killed a black man for calling him a cracker, and I'll have the same reaction. Dude belongs in jail, no matter what was said to him. It really is that simple.

I'll give you one thing - you're way better than me at creating a narrative and twisting facts to align with that narrative. I'm glad you've got this thread to keep you entertained today. Have some fun.

We simply don't have enough facts to know. To view it as similar, you'd have to assume that Pujols did zero instigating and was simply standing where he should have been and the old man came in and got in his have for no reason. We simply don't know this yet.

Nah, you're just pretending a cop responding to a riot pushing a man who was lucky not to be arrested out of the way is the same.

I didn't have to twist anything. Your words are right there for you to read.

Well of course he was. It was also pretty obvious that, for example, Bubba Wallace was making shite up too. Seeing through BS isn't that hard but critical thinking is a quality lost on many these days.
That being said, most people are not terribly smart (hence the complete bullshite I see regularly shared on Facebook on a whim). They're reactionary and emotionally driven and a there were plenty of folks jumping on the 'frick around and find out, old man' train when the video initially came out until they were eventually 'informed' it was fake.

He killed a guy for words. Those are facts, not assumptions. he is a dumbass and a vagina for killing someone over words.

We don't know all of the facts, we do know enough to make the statements I did.

Even if it was staged, if the cop pushing him is wrong then it is still wrong. The reality is the cops were responding to a riot and this guy was impeding them. If we're going to have a problem with that officer's response, the problem is he didn't arrest the guy. Then again, the DA would have just released him with no charges so maybe that would be pointless anyway.
