If you find any B&B orange bag, load up the truck. I will give you $10 a bag for it.

Can you imagine punching someone for calling you a racial slur? Because the death was probably not contemplated.

So words alone don't justify violence, you have to have something else going on which would show intent to harm in order to justify it?

That's just bad writing. The first use of "allegedly" can apply the rest of the statement. The second use is redundant.

So if someone you have never met before says they are going to kill you and there is no weapons or act of aggression you can kill them?

I’d like to see that play out in court

Think about all the times you have jokingly told someone you would kill them. What if they didn’t take it they same way. Would they be justified in killing you?

How old are you. This is pretty basic common sense.

So in your mind he deserves the death penalty since they both were in the wrong? If that's true, the young POS deserves it also...right?

It's funny this is the number one excuse nowadays. "He called me racist names." No he didn't asswipe, you hit him because you in fact were the racist and wanted to show it.

How do you know the workers said nothing rude to the old man?

Are words enough to provoke violence or not? I’m confused by this argument.

Originally the general consensus of this thread was that the worker shouldn’t have punched the old guy cuz he called him a slur because words are not enough to excuse violence.

But now you are saying it’d be justifiable for the old man to go inside and continue the conflict if the worker was also saying rude things. The only reason the old guy would have gone inside was to fight the worker. Otherwise he would have just left and called the manager or something. If he went in there thinking he was gonna yell at a stranger without any repercussions then he was an idiot to begin with.

No, I’m not defending the worker and I’m also not defending the old guy.

I agree with the premise that words don’t justify violence but saying that the employee shouldn’t have escalated the situation cuz words aren’t a big deal and then saying that the old guy might have been justified in going inside cuz the worker used bad words is contradictory.

I never said that would be ok, so where is the contradiction?
