He wants to use your address for his residence plan prior to release, and to be used on the sex offender registration cards.

What is your belief system? If it is Christian (and honestly no judgment if it is not), then the answer is pretty clear.
Matthew 25:31

I have a friend doing life in Angola. I don't condone what he's done but I have always been his friend. I write and occasionally visit but I don't do the phone thing. The man has been there for me in the past, I'm a true friend, not a sometimes one.

Probably wants to make peace with everyone he has fricked over in his life. Let him write to you so he can get banging all of your girlfriends in high school and college off his chest.
