48 for me. I’m 49 now and it has gotten progressively worse since I started wearing them as being more and more reliant on them. At first it was just I couldn’t read certain things on my phone. Then I couldn’t read anything on my phone in a short period of time.

I’ve been wearing glasses or contacts since I was 3.

Right before 50 started to need reading glasses too.

I’m wearing my regular glasses, I can take the glasses off and read If I put whatever it is close to my eyes. I refuse to wear bifocal glasses because they look stupid and old.

If I’m wearing contacts, I have to put it as far away from my eyes as possible to read it, If I don’t have my reading glasses with me.

Had LASIK in my early 20s after being SO blind. I wore contacts that would have translated to thick glasses before then.
Mid 40s I hit the wall and quit fighting. I had a really good run.
Readers for a couple years. The headaches from wearing the glasses were more than I could handle. Right now I’m thriving on one near and one far contact. Gonna ride this solution as long as I can!

18 I realized I needed glasses and soon had contacts until I was 32 when I had LASIK at the Eye Medical Center. It was wonderful. Then around 41 I couldn’t see to drive at night. Had to get glasses again. Doc said LASIK doesn’t last forever with astigmatism. 1 year later at 42 I got bifocals because I couldn’t see anything near it far. I’m 52 and bifocals (progressives). I don’t even know I have them anymore.

I wore prescription glasses from 10 years old in 1972 through 41 years old in 2003. I then had LASIK surgery for nearsightedness and didn't need reading glasses until I was 52 or 53 in 2013/2014. I use 1.50 reading glasses now but if the lighting is good enough I don't need them at all.

Before my LASIK surgery, performed by Dr. Jeffrey Singer in 2003, my vision (or lack thereof) was 20/250 in each eye and 7.75 diopters in my left eye and 8.25 diopters in my right eye.

Remember it like it was yesterday. I turned 44 then one morning I woke up and went to read something and it was blurry. I said WTF so I rubbed my eyes and tried to read again still blurry. Had perfect vision my whole life until that morning old age is real. I use readers now.
