that clip of him as Newt Gingrich is depressing because it shows what comedy should be. You can get a laugh without being legitimately angry/vitriolic against your target. All political comedy now is just mean spirited and not funny.

Very cool but...….The Don Rickles Roast clips killed me. Way before PC reared its ugly head

Thanks for sharing that—the whole family got a good laugh out of that and I got to relive some good memories...damn...I’m getting old

You know he was going to be Shrek and recorded most of the audio for the character which is fascinating to listen to. He had also signed on to do a biopic of Fatty Arbuckle and he was hoping to move towards a little more serious stuff. Always loved the guy.

Remember when late night talk shows weren't political propaganda?

Agreed. I hadn’t seen this clip before. Conan straight up read the tea leaves. Very sad.
That said, I think Farley could have made the switch to serious. I’ve always thought he could have pulled off a mobster for some reason.

I can't even imagine what kind of thinking came up with that conclusion.

Pretty sad to see a man go down in a ball of flames with everyone around him just watching, laughing at him, and clapping. Dude was a personal disaster, but damn he looked like he knew how to party.
