My buddy gave our family 10 great years after we were fortunate enough to rescue/adopt him. Our house sure feels empty this evening without him. Best dog ever. Even though this is part of owning a pet, it still fricking sucks.

Dogs truly are part of the family. I put my almost 14 year old down last October because her quality of life was so poor. She was my best friend, and I miss her every day.

Notice how dogs are always so happy to see you? They love us unconditionally, and we should love them the same way.

I'm sorry for your loss. You will see your pup again one day.

Sorry to hear, speedy. That’s the trouble with dogs….they just don’t live as long as we do….

“Dogs’ lives are short, too short, but you know that going in. You know the pain is coming, you’re going to lose a dog, and there’s going to be great anguish, so you live fully in the moment with her, never fail to share her joy or delight in her innocence, because you can’t support the illusion that a dog can be your lifelong companion.
There’s such beauty in the hard honesty of that, in accepting and giving love while always aware that it comes with an unbearable price.” – Dean Koontz

I’m very sorry for your loss

I wish I had some words of comfort to offer, but I know there's very little that can be said to alleviate the heart-wrenching pain of losing a wonderful dog who has been a part of your life and family for so long.

Suffice it to say that I feel your loss deeply as well. My heart is with you, Speedy.

Perfect description. We lost our buddy a while ago after 11 years and the house does feel so very empty without him. Not waiting by the front door when I get home for work, not going for those long walks that he loved, not hogging the couch when he was ready to nap, etc. It’s been a while and the emptiness is still there.

Sorry for your loss, you’ll never stop thinking about him…

Very sorry. It is hard. It took me a decade to replace Ollie and I just got my new dog, Reese, this past November. It was a postive for me but it clearly took a long time for me.

I’m sorry for your loss. I didn’t want a dog and my wife brings home a GoldenDoodle. I resisted at first but three years later and damn it if I can’t wait to see him ever day. He’s right beside me when I’m home. I dread the thought of losing him
