In my third grade class back in the 80s, there were twins in my class named Shamara and Shamara. One was pronounced SHAM a ra and the other was Sha MA ra. Identical twins with same birthday, first, middle, and last names.

Saw a documentary on single mothers about 35 years ago and one of the mothers named her baby “Denotra” (De No Tra). I started calling a work buddy that and it has stuck ever since.

Several decades ago, back when the Times Pic was a newspaper with reporters, they did a full page on the names given to identical twins by a certain segment of society,

Some parents are doing the thing where the first name and last name have the same first letter. Last year my 4th grader had: Hannah Harper, Harper Harris, and Heather Hendrix. All in the same class.
