Would that be too much work for our politicians who decried the low levels of the SPR the last couple of years?

Yes. Because they would have to raise taxes to refill the SPR.

Pelosi wasn't going to use tax dollars to fill the SPR just so it could be sold off to fund pet projects. The trend is to fund pet and social projects "with no new taxes" by forcing the sale of SPR barrels down the road.

While consumers may cheer lower pump prices, oil-dependent nations

Like Saddam wanting to take Kuwait's oil fields to stop pumping oil so prices would increase and they could pay off war debts.

You need to pay so you can’t send your kids to their increasingly poor performing schools

We could go back to $5/ gallon we had under Biden.

Do oil field baws get free gas? Oh no that's right, you pay the inflated price on everything too that is caused by high oil prices.

Im torn about this; hopefully it screws OPEC the hardest, and we use our own oil and sell the rest.

Gasoline will still cost five dollars a gallon in California.

Not how this works.

Even if we were to snap our fingers and automatically refine every barrel we produce domestically, it won’t be enough for what we consume domestically. So there’d be no “rest” to sell.

Yep. My home value went up even with the COVID shutdowns, layoffs, restaurants going out of business and gasoline plummeting.

Everyone’s home values went up during Covid due to 2.5% interest rates.

you can buy more 3 buck a gallon of gas with a paycheck versus 1.95 gas with no job.

We don’t need 40 buck oil.

I buy about 8000 gallons of diesel a month. They will find a way to keep it 3 bucks.

So truck nut sales are about to go down? Hope all the O/G baws have saved enough to be able to ride out the down turn.
