For those of us who were poor in high school back in the late '80s...

Same here. The last time I felt nostalgic and tried to drink a Schlitz it made me realize how screwed up my taste buds were as a teen to think that swill tasted good.

Schlitz is still being made, though not sure what recipe is being used.

Q: why don't girls like to drink beer on the beach?

A; they don't want to get sand in their Schlitz

Navy jocks used to say "When you're out of F-8s, you're out of fighters"

F-8 guys said that. F-4 guys laughed as they shot them down at long range.

F-8s actually had a better MiG kill ratio in Viet Nam

Crusader dudes had a right to say that, at the time the missiles the Phantom carried were so unreliable that I'd have given odds on the F-8s, one thing to get tone and a "kill" in "practice" versus the real thing, once the missiles got better and they added a gun the F-4 drivers, especially the Vietnam dudes could clean house

ETA:F-8s actually had a better MiG kill ratio in Viet Nam

a lot of numbers have to do with the mission, a lot of the AF fighters were used as fast FACs/bombers

Drank it and Hamms in college (2004-08) because you could get a 24 pack for $9.99

Does anyone remember the name of the dog in the Stroh's ads from the 80s? I think he was an Irish Setter, but he was Spuds Mackenzie before Spuds MacKenzie was Spuds MacKenzie.
