Judge is going to get destroyed by the disciplinary board.
As I said earlier what he posts about cases seems like it would be public records anyway and he is also entitled to his own thoughts and free speech for everything else he posts.
Will it cost him an election? Possibly but I don't see how him posting about strip clubs or cases that are a matter of public record is unethical.

Other comments ranged from unflattering comments about women — they are interested in either a "bulge" in the pants or a bulging wallet, but either one will do, geauxjudge wrote. More inflammatory in Arkansas, perhaps, were multiple jokes about Arkansas as a place in which incest is frequently practiced. (Maggio is a Mississippi native.) He wrote:

sex with animals…. been there …. done that

Yeah, no. Judges are held to a higher standard (for obvious reasons). That isn't debatable; each state has an ethics code for sitting judges...hell, you obviously skipped the portion that was posted on the Blue Dog Report.
Also, commenting on a closed adoption is a violation. It doesn't matter if some of the proceedings somehow became public through other means; he's still not supposed to comment on the matter.

This thread has been awesome. I feel bad for that guy. I've been caught in things from here before and learned my lesson before anything really bad happened. I feel for this guy who is gonna lose out on a job because of it.
I've just learned to not write behind a pseudonym, rather just be genuine so you don't really care if people know who you are. But still, it's easy to say something on here that you would say to your friends but not the general public. Like a lot of the comments he made.

You'd have to use IBM's Watson to look through all those posts.
Also: I always thought geauxjudge was a good poster who gave sound advice

Probably not the best timing for him since he's running for a court of appeals position
Little question that his opponent (or the opposing party) has known about his posting here (and subject matter) for some time, but has kept it in reserve to use when necessary. No point in bringing out the big guns for a local judicial seat, but for a C of A slot??? That's different.
The guy is brutally honest, and while impolitic, there's nothing to indicate that he doesn't/can't do his job. Still, this will be a killer for him, and it's a shame.
