Seems like most people’s events are going down tonight.
Co worker just came over to pregame for the party later. He’s sorta disgruntled with some things that have been going on and is already a six pack deep.
Tonight’s going to be good!!!!!

Too early in the month. The majority will be on the 14th or 21st.

Mine is on the 14th. I always enjoy mine. They had a raffle last year and the top prize was a trip to The Bahamas. The dude who dropped his name into the bowl literally right before me won

I skipped mine but could not avoid the gift, which this year was a Santa figurine

Don't understand why people hate their company Christmas parties. Ours is next Thursday and it should be a blast. Only 10 of us, they got a private room at a nearby restaurant. Going to shut the office down at 1pm, go run an obscene tab, and go home early.

Because I spend enough time with these people during the day.
My office just does a Christmas lunch the Friday before Christmas then we close early. Works much better.
I have to go to my wife's next Friday though. They're even worse when you barely know anyone there.

They annoy the frick out of me 8 hours a day. I don't want to be around them in my free time.

Mine is the 20th. Drinks start flowing at 12 noon. By 4 someone will be passed out, and someone will have removed clothing.
Life is good.

Are y’all going caroling? That seems like the best way to do an office party. It’s clean, free, fun and brings joy to you and those to whom you sing.

You answered it with this

Most people are complaining about having to show up on a Friday or Saturday night. I don't mind an after hours company Christmas party, but I would prefer it happen on the clock

I do complain about most parties I get invited to, but I guess I'm not a total social reject because I keep getting invites.
I do go to a lot of them, but I definitely complain about going, but I usually end up having a good time at them. I'm just a homebody, and don't really enjoy boring small talk.

The most epic one I remember was in my mid 20s. A bunch of us ended up at the strip club after the regular party. Two girls from the office made out in front of everyone although neither were lesbians. One of our executives got a DUI on the way home.
That damn office ended and started so many marriages

Probably b/c they are 'forced' to attend or be in the dog house. Many people are just associates and don't really like having to pretend to be friends with people they just work with. You spend enough time with them daily, having to have a party with them just makes it worse.

I've noticed a trend in the last 10 years of more company parties being earlier. They understand that people have more family and friend parties to attend as it gets closer to Christmas.
I attended one last night with one of my groups at work and another is tomorrow night as is my wife's company party.
I've had too many great times at parties to list them all, but the best was when I was asked to look at a feel my wife's co-workers tit and tell the other woman if I thought they were fake or not. Of course we knew she had just gotten a breast job, but I was asked to play along to try and trick the other office bitches.
It's been a long long time since I was at a bad company and way down on the totem pole that I didn't want to attend a company party. If there is free drinks/food/hot women/prizes/gifts, I will be there.
It does kind of stink though with the modern view of limiting drinks much more due to liability that a lot of companies have to consider.
