I wouldn't hate mine. I like our employees and only get to see them once a year.

But the nature of each of us living in a different state makes Christmas parties not a thing. I'll throw myself one.

I have to go to my wife's next Friday though. They're even worse when you barely know anyone there.

My wife works in a small office of about 10 people. I know everyone and their spouses because of the Christmas parties.

Ours is tomorrow and I am pretty excited. It's an LSU watch party.

My company is too cheap to have a Christmas party. Closest thing we’ve done was a pot luck dinner a few days before Christmas

Mine is too big. We have over a thousand employees in different locations so most of us don't even know each other. We just leave work early and do a small department Christmas party for a few hours with an open bar.

My first job out of college was at a tiny company that was owned by a super religious guy. He was nice enough to take us to a nice dinner, but alcohol was strictly prohibited.

The next job was a much bigger company, but the department manager was an a-hole and a jew. He of course wasn't going to allow for a party, but we could have a pot luck. He bitched at people who were starting to heat up food before the lunch break started.
The company at least gave us a ham though.

It's been all up hill since that horrible crap over 20 years ago. Getting restaurants rented out or roof top bars rented out as well as hotel rooms paid for for the weekend doesn't suck.

Our company is reimbursing everyone for an Uber so that’s cool.

Yeah this was definitely pre Uber. Probably around 2004. Lucky for some it was before everyone had a camera in their pocket too.

Nah, we got a huge inflatable screen and projector. It’s a family business so only about 40 people. Our parties have been known to get out of hand. Everyone gets smashed.

Mine is the 19th. Going out to lunch, was kind of hoping for a bigger party because I have to fly in for it, but I'll find a good spot to drink after.

There are a few things I’m less interested in then a work potluck. Cater something.
