No I’m not talking about prostitution. But recently I’ve seen a bunch of posts of people looking to trade services. Usually it is some worthless person who offers some intangible service like marketing who is too cheap to pay for someone with actual utility like a plumber. I saw on LinkedIn the other day some dude looking to trade his “services” for LSU-Texas tickets on LinkedIn and it was one of the cringiest things I’ve ever seen.

Posted without identifying information because I don’t want to embarrass the poor dude.

The whole problem with the idea is this:
The only reason someone would want to trade services it is because they have no money. And the only reason they'd have no money is because they are lazy or have no skills. And if they are lazy or have no skills you wouldn't hire them to do whatever service they are offering to trade in the first place.

This is how the world was built pal. You have to bring something of value to the table to make it work.

Yes but my whole point is it is usually people that bring nothing of value looking to get something of high value and they are not self aware to realize no one wants their stupid crap service.

Dude is some sales guru but can't afford four tickets to an LSU game. Sounds like he's broke like mingo

Call me crazy, but that’s not really cringey to me. He even admits it’s a long shite and may not work and is trying it because he doesn’t want to spend a fortune on a football game. Now, I’m not sure what he’s offering is a fair value, but that’s not for me to decide…it’s for whoever chooses (or doesn’t) to take him up on it.

Yea, he should've hit me up earlier this season and I would've traded him my 4 McNeese tickets for some yard work.

I would think he would want to this offer to be publicized as much as possible. Specifically on this website. You aren’t doing him any favors by removing his information.

He should be embarrassed for this. And on top of it, he's claiming $4000 price tag for 4 tickets. Get in price right now on Seatgeek is around $380 per ticket. So not only does he want tickets, he wants GOOD tickets.

ETA: but if you google his Plant Grow Harvest workshop program, his name comes right up

That's everybody, and you value those things differently at different times and other will value your cash and time differently at different times, and those probably won't ever match up (can get close, negotiating, etc..)

This guy thinks his time and skill set are worth $4,000. If that's true, then why not go out into the world prior and make that money? Why hasn't he already made that money?

I agree with you. If his skillset, experience, and time were this valuable, he should already have the money especially with him talking up his resume and clients.

Watching you learn what the barter system is in this thread is kind of entertaining

High value is relative. I know nothing about technological things or social media. In the past I have traded plumbing work for marketing and SEO .

If the services had value people would be paying for them.

It’s almost as bad as people going on Facebook and asking if anyone has tickets that they are looking to give away.
