Look kid should not have been breaking into the car at 3am, we all agree there.

I do not think shooting from your house at someone in your driveway is part of the whole “stand your ground thing”.

Probably will not end up well for the homeowner.

Parent should be arrested for letting the kid be out that late.

I'm surprised they found him not guilty, tbh. Given the facts, shooting this kid sounds ridiculous, but I wasn't there so maybe I shouldn't judge the circumstances.

While the kid should have been in bed, and most certainly should not have been on other people’s property, if the cop would have simply turned a light on he’d have fled.

How do you know this? There have been some cases in NO where people have been shot or shot at walking up on car burglars. More of these incidents will happen as cops and the judicial system continue to give these kinds of criminals a pass.

An airman was murdered by a 15 year old girl pulling door handles in Bossier last year, we should shoot on sight at 3AM, it's time.

I would just let my dog out if this happened.

It would make her day.

He was in Jefferson, not Orleans. He will be all right. It will be declared justified because of the side of the parish line he was on.

While you are probably correct...for that night...what happens next time? Does he suddenly stop doing this shite? Of course not. If the parents, nor the legal system will deal with an arse clown, then the guy who is being robbed should deal with it. I have zero issue with this.

How in the actual f*ck do you know this? Are you a f*cking mind reader from afar? How do you know that they didn’t have guns and would’ve attacked him and killed/raped his family after he turned on the light?

Probably to take change and other shite inside the car. That’s not a death sentence.

thats not how this works. It looks like it was a death sentence for this kid.

Dont be a thief. You dont get to dictate how people respond to the bad shite you do to them.

even if he was on duty hes supposed to be treated as a suspect. every shooting is considered a homicide. even on duty. thats the law, but we know that isnt how it actually goes down. I’d imagine he isnt actually being treated as a suspect right now

The problem with these type cases is the disparity in outcomes for the homeowner when he used deadly force on a would be burglar. In some jurisdictions, he gets a medal, in others he is forced to plead down to manslaughter or negligent homicide from a zealous prosecutor’s murder indictment, in many communities he may go to trial and be exonerated with a pat on the back or convicted and sent to the crossbar hotel. I would have probably shot at all of them.
