This place is at rock bottom in the fricking gutter when inhabitants struggle to understand the meaning of ASAP and start threads about it.

A more recent trend that annoys the frick out of me is people putting their pronouns next to their name. I immediately lose all respect for the person and can no longer take them seriously. I don't understand how modern society has let a group of people equal to less than 1% of the population completely rewrite and redefine the english language.

Honestly, the only thing that bothers me about work emails is when people really close to my office email me with a simple question that could have been answered had they stood up and walked 10 yards to my office.

Touchpoint - Apparently this is the name Millenials gave to a recurring meeting.

Corporate jargon sucks. I always try to avoid that bs.

Asap should mean as soon as possible...not immediately, but people misunderstand and asap should be banned. If you want something done, provide the recipient with "please complete by end-of-day March 8th." Be clear.

Rather than FYI, I prefer "as info only" or "I think this is a good reference document for us" or "I find this interesting." Let your team know they aren't expected to respond, responses clog up inboxes.

I use this sometimes but is there something wrong with it?

To me FYI means, I want you to see this but you don't have to act on it.

This. If I get an email that contains information that I think someone else may appreciate, I'll forward it to them with an FYI at the top.

Not necessarily jargon, but there should be mandatory training for all who utilize email on a daily basis on the difference between "reply" & "reply all".

Those are for up the chain.

Ooooh... that's pure cancer.

I used to date a chick who'd worked at the Ramstein AFB rec center and it sounds like something she'd overuse.

It’s not a term but two people that get in a back and forth and Reply To All on group emails need to take it outside.

Don’t jam up my inbox with your stupid shite that doesn’t involve me.

Yep. Exactly this. I'm not going to explain why I think you might appreciate being let in on the conversation, but I'm also not going to leave you guessing if you need to take any action regarding the info being shared. If you think I'm being county then that's your problem.

I've seen "CYA" used in a few of our e-mails, meaning "Cover Your arse." For example, "Please CYA and save all correspondence from Mr. Smith."
