I wonder across the country how much of this is driven by people hiring for bullshite positions during Covid with free government money that’s now dried up and they’ve got this bloated workforce with no real jobs to do?

I mean, there have certainly been examples of companies falling on hard times. But the vast majority have been “administrative positions” and the like. Remember the lady from Facebook that was interviewed saying she hadn’t ever actually done work while making 6 figures for several years?

It’s driven by inflation. Medical facilities go through a ton of materials, device maintenance, and regulations.

sorry to hear about that. If you have kids, at least the 65 days is during summer.

I know the docs are leaving at rapid rates from their hospitals.

I heard a bunch of nurses at Lafayette General quit recently too after Ochsner took over.

My wife being one of them, she just got tired of all the nickel and diming, all the hoops they now had to jump through for education updates/courses, all the woke/pronoun trash they'd push.

Our second child was born 2 weeks ago and from chatting with the nurses practically all of them felt the same way.

I have no doubt some management could be consolidated. But these people weren’t hired into newly created positions because of Covid. So no… not “ding ding”

Going out on a limb and guessing this won’t affect direct patient care. Trimming the fat which a-lot of companies are doing. Positions that don’t directly have to do with patient care.

Everything requires a meeting with 8 random female "managers" involved...so therefore it takes three more meetings to make the decision I'm telling them all along is their best or only option.

I did two stints with them (patient facing/ admin management) and left this exact sentiment on my exit interviews.

Too many useless meetings where they felate each other and nothing gets done. I swear I wasted half of my days on pointless meetings. Good ideas were never moved upon and nothing ever changed. We did get DEI shoved down our throats so that was nice. Don’t get me started on the absolute reckless abandon of hoarding Covid patients in New Orleans.

At least I was getting paid to not do shite. Some days I felt like I was working for the state.

They still are offering nurses huge sign on bonuses.

Brother, she will bounce back with something bigger and better. Tell her to take this time for decompression and reflection. Enjoy this time for her mental and physical well being.
