The problem I have always had with this percentage constantly being repeated is no one knows what data is being inputted. My stepmom was divorced back in the 90s, my dad is widowed. Her divorce still counts towards the # of first marriages that ended in divorce, 30+ years later. At what point does that number fall from the data? Do they still count divorces when one, or both, people are dead?

There are a lot of reports that state that the overall divorce rate is in the 40% range; but they still do not state what information they are presenting when formulating that rate.

There are also a lot of sites that tell us the divorce rates are dropping; which may be a more telling that just regurgitating that 1/2 of all marriages end in divorce without stating what time frame are you talking about.

Newflash:

The Left does not want you to believe the following:

1. That men and women are happier in a monogamous relationship raising kids.
2. That sacrifice for your family is more important than sacrifice for your government
3. That men and women ordered in the proper way, is the most fruitful and successful way to live, even if some of those fail.
4. That we should culturally encourage that for the betterment of society, the country and the world

you are correct about this!! Gender roles have to be eliminated - which is why there is such a big push for lgbtq

Divorce rate for college educated is like 25% or so. It also drops at higher incomes.

That 52% is skewed.

Even if married men live longer, who says it has anything to do with being married ?
It's like saying men named Frank live longer than men named Mike.
While it may be true, it doesn't have anything to do with their name.

Uh, no. It means one of two things:

1. Married men live longer because they are married (causes TBD)
2. Healthier men tend to be in / prefer marriages

Those are your options given the data.

Golly, that changes everything

Here's your parachute.
There's only a 25% chance it won't open.

Truth. Bad spouses are more likely to get divorced. Worse spouses are even more likely. And when you get to the bottom of the barrel, it’s worse than a crapshoot.

100% of my first marriages are still going 24 years strong.

Pick a spouse that you want, not one you settle for.

I'm skeptical about it being this high.

These two I believe. Divorcees are divorced for a reason and that reason is likely still an issue the second and third time.

Remember, you can have the same thing with the right woman except tax benefits. No need to overly complicate shite with the government.

The added bonus of a wife who is never wrong, never apologizes but makes up for it by pointing out all of your faults.

Or you can marry wisely, build your marriage on a foundation of Christ, never be lonely, have someone to share your greatest life experiences with and you them, create, nurture, and raise two great kids who in turn give you four terrific grandchildren, and have a lifetime of great sex, albeit with one person, but great sex nonetheless.

At least that’s how it has worked out for me for the past 32 years.

Want the real truth. Married for 30 plus years.

Marriage isn’t as bad as men think and not as great as women think. Women cheat as much as men do and yet they start 75% of divorces. It’s because they think they were promised a “rose garden”

A family, love and wealth…happiness and longevity aside, nothing.

If you are self-centered/selfish, enjoy substances and / or “freedom” really means lots of pussy, skip the alter. Not for you.

OP sounds like an INCEL. Why don’t you look at the divorce statistics of couples that read the Bible and pray together. It’s pretty shocking how low it is.

I think we have way too many that don't want to be adults and grow up. Throw that in with an instant gratification culture, endless information at your fingertips, also getting constant bad advice online (more women than men), affirmation of terrible choices, lack of accountability, and this is the result. They have people that think you have to be happy in a marriage 24/7, 365 and it doesn't work like that. People need to understand that ,but they don't. Obviously, there are some situations that need to be walked away from such as an abusive spouse, physical harm, or infidelity ,but it is so easy now that people just get a divorce when things get mildly discomforting. It is pretty sad.
