Have a hard time believing they called the cops just because the guy didn't have proof. How did they get him to stick around long enough for the cops to get there?

Fair. However, I doubt NYPD is arresting everyone without a vaccine pass. Just because they CAN, doesn't mean they will - they aren't looking to do any extra work or crowd their jails. It is the same reason, some people get arrested for being drunk in public, and others don't. How you act and speak to law enforcement will influence whether or not you actually end up in the clinker or not.

So he was arrested simply because he didn't have a vaccine passport?

I am not sure how you fail to grasp the fact that he was arrested for failing to provide a vaccine passport is the problem. It's scary if you are OK with it being a mandate by the city and people can get arrested for it and even doing your best to defend it while blaming the guy.

The leftists in here, who claimed that Trump was a fascist for 4 years, are telling us not to worry about a bill that has been filed that would give the executive of NY the right to incarcerate someone without a trial based on a vague concept of public health emergency. This is after the same government has ordered lockdowns and quarantines, destroyed small businesses, put tens of thousands of working people out of a job, commingled Covid patients with those in nursing homes and now is requiring vaccine passports for people to live a normal life.
