They should cut off all oil and gas refined products in or shipped to NY and California.

Well then that isn’t a concern because of this acquisition. Oil and gas is a global game and there are plenty of massive IOCs and NOCs that compete with Exxon.

I'm far from a lame fear citizen. The OP mention of this being a Democracy ender is a huge stretch. But..

Last week, Exxon Mobil agreed to buy Pioneer Natural Resources for $59.5 billion

Just be aware consolidating and growth isn't always a good thing. If Exxon ever goes rogue stateside w regard to refining, we're fricked. They've not acquired this big in over 20 years.

If a CEO was dumb enough to do this, he'd have an unfortunate accident or have damning criminal information released pretty quickly. The government took out Epstein in basically the most obvious assassination ever, and all he had was information.

I mean this is a bit of an oversimplification. Humans have already hunted to extinction hundreds of animals. But there’s also space in between “humans can’t harm their planet” and “we must sacrifice our entire way of life and destroy western civilization to protect it”.

Wait until they find out the US isn't a democracy.

If Exxon were serious about preventing climate change, it could use its record $56 billion in net income from last year to invest more seriously in renewable energy, carbon capture and storage or other technologies that are compatible with long-term environmental sustainability.

Or perhaps Brown and other Ivies could commit $50 billion from their enormous endowments to help alleviate the “crisis”.
