Did you read the article? It says it’s a contingency plan if the death rate gets out of control

A misleading headline by an American news source which is guaranteed to garner attention?

Say it ain't so.

I'm watching people on Facebook feed meltdown because there was an article whose headline said that "Deaths being designated as COVID without confirmation." The conspiracy theories came out in droves talking about how this done to intentionally drive up numbers when the fact of the matter is that happens all the time in medicine and is not akin to just classifying any death as COVID,.

The article explains it but its buried.

These Dems never let a good crisis go to waste. I'm sure this is completely false.

“We may well be dealing with temporary burials, so we can deal with each family later,” the mayor said. We will have the capacity for temporary burials – that’s all I’m going to say.”

“I’m not going into details,” de Blasio said. “I don’t think it’s a great thing to be talking about.”

Sounds more ghastly than it probably is as a contingency plan since I'm sure with already 2500+ bodies there will be an issue since there's also no funerals right now.

NY Post loves a good attention grabbing headline more than any paper ever. This one of their best:

Seems the Hudson river would be much more logical...

They can store them in shipping containers temporarily. There is no reason to "temporarily" bury a body in a public area.

A lot of their parks are built on top of old graveyards anyway.

Fun fact: the city of Galveston did that after the great hurricane of 1900. The bodies washed back ashore.

I'll believe they're serious and care when they shut down the subway and the public transit. Until then.... yawn. There would be plenty of places for them if we just processed them as normal deaths and let the funeral homes deal with them. But instead we have to have refrigerated trailers brought out for photo ops. I'm willing to bet the amount of people dying each day in NYC is either the same or very slightly higher. Not enough for a photo op.

Not clicking the link but that is one way to keep other people from congregating in the parks.

Cuomo was asked in the presser about this and he said he knew nothing about this.

The National Enquirer has more credibility than the NY Post.

People are making a lot more out of this than is there.

I think the refrigerated containers they have are close to full.

There are some massive parks in NYC that also already have large spaces closed off to the public for various public works, parks dept compounds etc. . .

I doubt even the emergency contingency proposal means just burying them out where the kids usually throw frisbee.
