Hope you are trolling cause that's a bit of a stretch. Being appreciative of combat veterans Isn't relative to LEO power trips or poor decision making on the part of an LEO.

As to the nurse here, I fail to see why the officer or sherriff had an issue with what she did. I think her actions were justified if this is all there is to the story. The LEO, not so much.

There are good and bad cops, its stupid to say "i hate all cops" which I dont, but I have had a few encounters when a cop was on a power trip and I had almost lost it or lost it. The time I almost lost it.. I was on I12 and had to excite on Sherwood. In order to get into the lane to exit from the interstate, I had to speed up and pass someone. Before I had to do that, I was going to speed limit (because I saw the cop). As I am exiting I saw the lights kick on... I thought "he got somebody" assuming I didn't do anything that warranted being pulled over for. Well I was wrong because I was the one he was after. I pulled over and he came to me and said "I pulled you over because you sped up to pass a car" and asked him "can you please suggest how I am suppose to get in the lane I need to be in in order to take the exit I need to take?" he started asking me "where are you going?" I told him where I was going then asked "what are you going to do, you are wasting my time". Dude looked like he was pissed when I said that, he walks to his car, without getting my license. Comes back and said "you lucky I am on my way home to end my shift" right before I took off I told him "oh boy, I am so lucky" The street I had to turn on was several feet away, as I turned, that dude was standing out of his car door just watching me.. Like he was thinking about whether he wanted to stop me again or something. But I can't stand punk arse power hunger cops. Had to get that off my chest.

At any rate, this is what courts are for - to sort it out.

The problem is that arrest records are public and her mugshot and arrest are forever on the Internet. Even with a not guilty verdict or no charges filed.

While in this case the news story is public and will defray perception of the incident. Most bogus arrests don't make the news and people have to explain away a rouge cop forever.

Absolutely not.

This all started with the soldier hero worship because there are many, many people who are ashamed of how they treated returning Vietnam veterans, so they went overboard the other direction.

That spilled over into the "first responder" hero worship. They are power-tripping like a MOFO.

I'm with the lady, 100%...I wish all folks had the presence of mind to get of the main drag so traffic don't pile up

and if in the evening, pull to a well lit area...they don't have to like it

seens they are making a mountain of a molehill involving thinking and common sense

perhaps cuz the commies have no common sense, they don't want the public to have it either!!!

The cop is an idiot for arresting her and the department is headed by an even bigger idiot for supporting the first idiot's idiotic move. This woman is obviously not a criminal and absolutely no threat to anyone. But now that county is going to waste tens of thousands of tax dollars in court costs to ruin the life of a 52 year old nurse. Everyone responsible for this idiocy should be fired.

It matters a great deal that she's a nurse. She could lose her job and/or her license if she is convicted.

Long story short, my buddy took a plea deal after his wife sliced up his arm. In Illinois, the wife is always right. He's an RN, came home to La, and they won't even consider him for jobs even though he's clean as a whistle in this state.

It matters.

I worry about the number of cops who are Iraq and Afghanistan vets suffering with PTSD. One poster on this board kind of used that as a reason for why one of the cops shooting someone in a video may have done it. My immediate reaction was why would guys that have problems with PTSD even be allowed to be cops? He acted like I was crazy for thinking that way.

I dont understand why all the other cops at the station don't kick this cops arse knowing the bad pub this idiot just brought to the dept.

Also, how's it resisting arrest if you don't think you'll be arrested.

Just like it's officer discretion in a lot of situations, so is medical care quality and timeliness. Want the best out of me? Treat me like it! Treat me like crap, get the same in return!

Holy shite I hope you aren't serious. If you give care based on how a patient acts you need to go into another profession.

First, why do I give a frick if she's a nurse. It doesn't change a thing about the story. Second, there has got to be more to the story from one side or the oth

Cops tend to be more lenient to nurses fwiw. I've always gotten out of tickets whenever I had my scrubs on and showed them my work badge.

Nurse I bet it doesn't hurt that you are an attractive nurse either. Any of your thicker unattrative nurses say "Dammit that SOB gave me a ticket!"?

Yeah but I normally look my worst when I'm coming/going from work.

I once drove home from work feeling really sick. Got pulled over for speeding (didn't even notice the speed limit). Looked like absolute crap......officer let me go with a warning and told me he hoped I felt better soon.

I know I have gotten a few tickets on my return home after a few long nights at work. My reply to the cops usually is just give me my ticket I got to get home and get some sleep. I did get out of one before. Cop must have been a good mode or something.
