I don't think it's that. I think it's the feeling that he was defending Latoya who was perfectly fine having the 200+ people for the swingers convention in town without a permit, but is acting like Lauren Daigle is the devil and shouldn't be promoted in such a pure place like New Orleans.

This was the right move by Nungesser, this was a race related, anti-white female, anti-Christian move by the radical New Orleans functionally illiterate mayor.
Lauren Daigle is originally from Louisiana but she nor her music needs a booster or supporter from the Louisiana state government. She has won 2 Grammys, she has a certified Platinum album on Billboards Top Christian albums, and her song ‘You say’ broke records by spending 101 weeks on Billboards Hot Christian Songs chart. So she’s doing just fine without Nungessers money.
Tulane LSU I respect your work and often agree with what you say but you and the white people hating black mayor of New Orleans are wrong on this one. This had a chance to be one of the most wholesome, family oriented musical events in that trash hole but Daigle has a long list of other decent towns begging her to come, this could be the Lords way of protecting her from that trash in N.O.
Do a search on what Daigle has done to help hurricane victims and others in La and compare it to what the N.O. Thug mayor has done, they’ll probably replace Daigle Christian music with some filthy, thug rap BS.

It's easy red meat for Fat Pinky Billy Nungesser to throw at the lemmings to lap up and there is no risk for him.
