frick off with this weak arse shite.
I lost a friend to one of these clapped out busted arse caravans coming apart on the interstate in high school.
There's legal and safe ways to transport busted arse cars. I have to do it the legal and safe way. They dont, because they are a protected class. I am a normal guy with a job and bills and shite, and I get blasted if my inspection sticker is out.
frick you and frick them.

They're already going back to Mexico. Why interfere?

You figure they are easy targets but our Troopers rather run some hick down in a Dodge Dakota going 76.
LE, is looking for drug mules so they can get press and confiscate the vehicle, money and all other goods.

Ive called about it. Police acted like they didnt know what i was talking about and that they had never seen one of these caravans. See them everyday on I65 & I10

They're going back to Mexico. They sell the vehicles there.

They are typically exceeding the towing capacity of the lead vehicle when towing a train of two additional vehicles.
Perhaps, but that is a judgment call, and writing that ticket requires them to weigh the vehicles. That is probably why they typically do nothing about it.

Why doesn't ICE do something about this?
Because it would be a waste on money because they are already leaving.

America is full of waste. They’re just taking out the trash, as best they can.

They usually are, unless you don't need to have a visible license plate to tow multiple cars, or need any kind of tail lights when hauling them at night.

If they are breaking the law, they should be stopped. You can tow two cars legally. That is all I ever see them towing. The ones I see typically have the towing light set up. They may be exceeding the rated towing capacity of the lead vehicle. But the cops don't usually pull people over for that because ticketing requires weighing the vehicles.
Weak is wanting to give the cops the license to do whatever they want. They need to follow the law, too. Today it's the guys you want them to do something about. Tomorow you're bitching because they pulled you over because your tint is too dark.
Sorry about your friend.
Protected class? That's rich. I see good ole boys towing things in an unsafe and sometimes illegal manner all the time, including trailers without working lights. Doing stupid stuff is not about what "class" you are in; it's about being stupid. And cops pulling guys over or not is usually about the cops not wanting to deal with the headache certain situations bring. An expired tag is an obvious violation and requires nothing more than pulling you over.
Those guys (at least the ones I see) are usually hauling vehicles with rebuilt titles to some place for resale (maybe Mexico, but maybe simply a western state) and are usually doing it for a business. They are actually working. Now the ones other people have described sound more like gypsy type caravans but I don't see those on the stretch of interstate I see the others I am describing.
Settle down.

Nah.
You're what's wrong with the western world today. All the "well akktually " gotcha bullshite needs to quit.
Its a shitload of Mexicans running an endless caravan of clapped out crap cross country with the bare arse minimum of half of the legal shite required and being untouchable while doing it.
Posted on 7/4/25 at 8:39 pm to mdomingue
People don’t realize that labor cost are high enough in America that people aren’t likely to fix some of these cars. They get them for very little in America and then take them down there where labor is cheap in their home country and fix them up.

The junk yard where they are eventually crushed and sold to steel mills.

You have no idea what you're talking about, like a lot of youngsters today.

Why are they untouchable? Are they untouchable? As I said, if they are breaking the law, they should be stopped. I am all for that. If they are breaking the law and are not being stopped, it is because the police are not doing their job. And it isn't because there is some special rule protecting Hispanic people or Mexicans. It's because the police think they have "more important things to do," which is part of the policing problem we have now. I am also an advocate of broken window policing. Just not police having the authority to work outside the law.

The states I have seen those in are all green: Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas. It would not hurt my feelings if Louisiana made double towing illegal.

Did somebody assassinate the Orange Moron?.
Posted on 7/4/25 at 9:23 pm to DiamondDog
I see those caravans of old school buses pulling a 2nd bus headed down I-10 & I'll see them coming through Sugar Land on 59.

You speak the truth. I moved to Louisiana for a couple years to help dad with his parents who had dementia/altz and I got popped by road pirates 7 times in 2 years for going maybe 7 over. Obv I'm an idiot for not catching on, my point is the law enforcement was there to rob the populous. They had a literal purposeful speed trap where it felt entirely natural to keep going 55/60 but it drops down to 45 for a short strip and they had a scumbag waiting there just writing tickets all fricking day. The only good thing about Louisiana is LSU. Get your education and gtfo of hell hole Louisiana.
To put it in perspective, I've been in pensacola for about 8 years and I haven't been pulled over ONCE.
