Clearly you haven't been reading the local media outlets' social media pages.

This is the truth. That area really needs the revenue that place provided....It's incredibly sad to see ignorant people cheering this knowing it's going to have a negative impact on other peoples' lives....

Welfare checks and EBT won’t be stopped, so they don’t care.

If they wanted to be financially successful, they wouldn't live in places like White Castle.

I don't know the race numbers of folks who will be affected, but employees of the plantation, vendors, employees of vendors like florists, caterers, wedding/party related folks, those who rely on tourist money...so many folks in that area who will feel this financially, immediately. Folks celebrating this loss aren't considering this.

They were paid conscripted labor. They received wages, but they also did not have a choice.

You presume they would care if they did consider it.

They won't.

They are petulant children. Retarded petulant children.

So, like I said, probably not slaves.

I’m not independently wealthy, so if I want to feed my family, I have to work. Therefore, I am a slave. If that floats your boat I guess.

Also, you’re just trusting that guy, loco, when he says they don’t have a choice? If you were a mason or common laborer back then, I guess you could go ply your trade in the market, but when the pharaoh is starting a large scale works project, it would probably be a dumb idea.

Having any knowledge of history I think it’s safe to say it’s more likely that aliens built the pyramids than them being built without slave labor.

Ok. What knowledge of history do you have on which to base this opinion, which goes against the general consensus of most Egyptologists?

I’ll go back a ways. In 1989, Exxon had a Christmas Eve explosion. A ship had just docked there. I had talked with the Captain about staying, using the ship to draft water out of the Mississippi River. We would then hook their connections to the fire water system, all docks have a universal connection. But the Captain, decided to have us release his ship, and anchor below the I-10 bridge. They also have at times harbor tugs with fire fighting equipment. Too many things come into play.

I remember that explosion. The force knocked a clock off our home's wall in Gardere, almost 10 miles away.
