Thanks, I just located the information.

As for more in the same town of White Castle. My friend has this Pharmacy. It’s worth a stop.

It comes from the taxes paid by the people who aren’t celebrating the destruction of historic buildings.

reading this stuff on social media over the last few days, it's getting harder and harder to keep quiet.

Agree 100%. I've had a few exchanges already in the comments from other news stories posted on fb. It's very difficult for me to read the ignorance they say and keep quiet.

As for this story, what the hell happened? Yesterday when I read this story and it seemed the fire department had everything under control. Even read something to the effect of fire chief saying "a couple more hours and they would have the place cleared." Now I wake up to read that it's burned to the ground.

50# of pressure flowing through a .15” hole will def put out some water and is adequate.

I doubt they even have 50# of water pressure around White Castle. Out on RIver Road, the mains are probably closer to 2". A 2" pipe run for a mile or more is going to have very little water pressure due to frictional loss.

At some point, the firefighters realized they were trying to put out a bonfire by peeing on it. It wasn't going to happen so they switched focus to keeping nearby buildings from catching on fire.

there will be far more damage due to smoke and water than the actual fire before it's done.

It's infinitely more likely that the group who bought it and destroyed its historical value through stupidity realized they tanked it's value and committed insurance fraud.
Its been reported recently the owners who are international backed have been experiencing financial difficulties, but I also didn’t think Jaeger ever sold it even though he wa setting to before his death because it was a money pit

That's the first thing I heard. It has gone through a number of owners especially in recent years. They collect the insurance then sell the land to Shintech.. Not a bad payout.

Well, from some of the later pics I saw it certainly looked like the fire was well under control and just needed an interior overhaul to get to the hot spots still smoldering instead of sitting outside on the lawn with big output hoses throwing more water on the building.

Most of this is going to fall back on the fire department. They obviously had water or they wouldn't have been dumping thousands of gallons a minute on it when it was actually heavily involved.

Mop up operations could have been done with much smaller hoses called Booster Lines that are much easier to maneuver inside a building and still put out a good amount of water under pressure to get to the hot spots.

A rekindle is never a good look for a fire department and more so on such a huge historical building that is now a total loss.
