Yeah I gotcha. I think terrorism is the overriding alt theory in the thread. If it's some Lutheran arsonist, Buckeye Jeaux will think he's just a patsy.
Can definitely be wrong on this, but the high number of vandalisms within France have me believing that is the case.

This has arson written all over it.
Not saying it’s terrorism unless they can prove it was arson set my a person tied to a terrorist group.
Either way, I believe it was started on purpose, planned to happen when it happened, timing is just to Coincidental

And the Catholic Church has made a large number of enemies over the years. I think it’s plausible it’s arson, and I’m not sure if Islam would have anything to do with it. They have more enemies than Muslims and the Catholic Church hasn’t really affected the Middle East’s day to day lives. They certainly have for Europeans, Africans, and the Americas at large for decades and really centuries.

The inside is actually pretty well preserved. Wooden pews and a pulpit are still intact, for instance.
