Joel Osteen would have been appalled by their old setup

Newsweek published last Month that Catholic churches have been attacked throughout France And you want to DEMAND that a construction accident is all we arepermitted to consider? really?
The Parisan prosecutor's office said they've ruled out arson and terrorism for now. Suggesting it's something else is speculation. If you can't understand why any reputable news anchor would out a stop to speculation, I can't help you.
I know the media speculates all the time, but that doesn't make it the appropriate way to handle it.

What a shame. I remember being there as a 17 year old kid on a HS Easter break trip in 1969. It is s magnificent building. Hopefully, a lot of the artwork and relics will be saved.

This the one in Crowley, right?
Nah, breh. There's no Notre Dame church in Crowley, just a school.

I’m going to guess the French have a lot of skilled craftsman and who can do this repair work. One, they have an enormous demand for it, given the number of castles and culture artifacts built over the last two thousand years. Two, there’s a lot of money in it. Between state funds that match a portion of your spending, and private money from the rich. Three, they hate change, and so they’ve probably preserved the old construction methods.
There's a BBC documentary called Secrets of the Castle where they were building a 12th century castle in France using 12th century technology and techniques. Most of the stone masons and carpenters were French so I'm sure they have the skills. France will pour money into reconstruction because it is a huge tourist draw.
Today is a sad day for history but it could have been much, much worse. The worst loss is the stained glass windows.

Just seeing this. Awful. So I guess it’s 50/50 Muslims did it?

True, but what would the Vegas odds be? Islam vs the field.
Higher, but radical Islamists tend to want as many people to die as possible. This clearly wasn’t that. It was either an accident or the biggest middle finger ever extended to Catholicism.

Not even the rich, but the middle class and even borderline starving Catholics around the world. I’m not Catholic, but I’d give $100 at least for it to be rebuilt. It was a marvel of Western Civilization. They will have no problem raising funds for it being rebuilt. Save for maybe 9/11 since shittons of people were killed, I think this might turn into the biggest single fundraiser in human history.

The prosecutor is talking out of his arse. No way he can rule out anything. Ridiculous on its face.

Exactly. Is the fire even put out yet? Scoured hours of surveillance cameras already? Investigators gone into the ruins to determine cause?
Nah

Apparently all of the art and treasure were saved or intact.

I was thinking about the country as a whole, they spend a lot to preserve what they have, but absolutely - they will have no problem raising the money to repair it.
I’m not French, but like you, I’d donate in a heartbeat.
