Nothing pisses me off more than INCOMPLETE Road Construction

I live in an area where the main road (was a two lane road) is being constructed to a six lane road. This fricking project has been going on for three, almost 4 years and for the past several months there has been zero movement going on with the project.
They have the road so torn up and the traffic backs up for 3 miles to get onto the main highway. Unfortunately, you have to drive down this road to get to the main highway to commute to work, etc.
The thing that burns me up is that the new lanes are paved but not lined and there are still a million orange construction drums lined up. Why can’t they just spend 2-3 weeks to finish this fricking project? That’s about all it seems it would take to be able to open this damn road up to the new 6 lanes.
Many retail and restaurants have had to close the past 2 years because people could not get into their establishments.
Forget ever having a clean car. The traffic is so bad that there are now times where I will not even attempt to go anywhere on the road. It’s a fricking nightmare and nothing is being done to ever finishing this stupid project.
People can’t even sell their homes because of it.
Why do state road projects always end up being like this? They are so close to finishing it but yet for the past several months, they are doing nothing to finish it.

I'd advise against New Orleans.
We beg for merely "several months" of nothing.

my favorite is when the construction guys show up every now and then just to push dirt around
kinda like when my son saw a worker walking around a warehouse with a broom pretending to sweep and asked me, "what's he doing?"
I said, "Son, that there's a union man."

A bunch of reasons. Failed compactions, state not paying on time forcing contractors hand, mix design issues, smoothness of pavement etc.

Here's a perfect example of why you shouldn't pay people by the hour, but how you need to pay by the job

Like the state worker that was propped up on a shovel out on a highway job watching everyone else work. A dog came up and pissed on the worker’s leg. The worker looked down at the dog and said “If I had another shovel I’d hit you right in the arse with it.”

More time for the merge action!

State projects are usually missing unknowns that slow a project down, or put the contractor upside down financially. If proper research was done before putting it up for bid, it would flow much better.

Wait until they shut down I-10 in BR, this will be the biggest c*f* ever.

This x1000
Boggles my mind. So many roads blocked with cones/signs, and yet, I rarely ever see anyone working on them.

As opposed to the current situation.

Your life must be amazing in that case

You don't even have to tell me the location but I can guarantee you for a fact that it's in Louisiana.

Anything done by the government is a cluster.

Except when you owe them money. Then they become a detective that rivals Batman.
