in AP EVERY road construction project is incomplete.

Bridges are my favorite. Not great big bridges like the Huey P or MRB, but little chickenshit two-lane bridges that cross a small ditch or bayou into a neighborhood or on some back road. DOTD will go in and take out the old bridge, necessitating a road closure, then disappear. It’s a fricking six month to year ordeal to repair/replace a bridge. Find that really hard to believe.

And anywhere on I-10 between Beaumont and Lake Chuck.
It’s a fricking death trap.

Either incomplete or totally unnecessary. For example, on HWY 74, they added a right turn lane onto Coontrap instead of a left turn lane that would actually alleviate traffic at that intersection. Or the the lights in Pville that are never synced correctly which causes backups everywhere.
Not to mention HWY 42 which has "U-turns" in which some don't have an area big enough to actually turn around in.

I-20 between the Texas line and Ruston has been "Under Construction" at some place for 30 years.

Alabama 158 connecting US 43/I 65 and US 98 at the Mississippi State Line has been under construction for over a decade on the western side.

You live in Central, huh?
Sullivan and Hooper Road?
Another candidate would be Juban Rd north of I-12.

Like the state worker that was propped up on a shovel out on a highway job watching
Vast majority of workers are private contractors and not state workers though. Having worked for a contractor, most people have no idea how roads are built or what is going on. They drive by and for 3 seconds see one guy, but don't see the other guys in the whole or the tunnel. Most of the people standing around are either a safety officers, an engineer, or someone from the product manufacture watching how materials are being installed.
Another thing people don't understand is when they see no one working but the lanes are closed. In almost every situation the lane is either still setting up, or it is not safe for someone to drive on. The few people they have standing around are there to monitor how the lift layer sets up and be there to report the occasional person who drives thought the cones and damages the layer.

I believe the one at Sharp Rd and Mollylea in Baton Rouge went a year OVER.
You know, “weather delays” and such.

and the reconfigured intersection at airline and germany, they made a right turn lane and the drain is higher than the road.
