I got the following note (partially redacted) from my son's teacher today. Does it make me a bad parent that the last line makes me laugh?

Is my son a TPoS?

quote:

I wanted to make you aware that today [your son] was reported to be a part of a group of boys that were making noises, holding their breath, and pretending to throw up every time they would pass a young lady at recess. The child being picked at reported the incident to teachers and said it was not the first time this happened. ... It was also revealed that he has been doing this to the same person since the beginning of the school year. Tomorrow he will meet with [the principal] to discuss these events. At that time a consequence will be determined.

I would appreciate it if you would follow up with [your son] at home by discussing the impact these actions would have on another person. We talked briefly at school about the difference between being mean and being a bully. Bullies are repeatedly hurting others with their words or actions. [your son] admitted to what he had done, but did not outwardly seem very concerned.

Your son is a punk most likely. Or dumb.

The smart ones always know to pretend to be sad and remorseful to get far less punishment.

Jesus. Kids can't even be fricking kids anymore. It's not like he was touching someone else. In my day the teacher would have said "knock it off!" and that would have been the end of it. A fricking note home? Nah.

Sounds like your kid is an a-hole but he's just being a kid, I suppose.

Please don't take a pic of the note and post it on Facebook. If you do, then we'll know where he got it from.

Teach him to feign outward token concern and you'll be golden.

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest bad parenting here.

your little bitch kid is going to pick on the wrong kid and come home one day crying, then we'll see if you make light of the situation

Did you miss this part?

It sounds like something was said. The note home was the final straw.

Sounds like a little a-hole. You think it's funny so I'm thinking he gets it honest.

He's being a dick to a girl.. tell him to lay off.

If the situation was with a boy, I wouldn't care. But my niece is in 4th grade and I can relate to the fact that I would be pissed off if she was being picked on by a group of boys every day.

I am more concerned that a school teacher cannot write any better than this...
